NADHIRA IS DEAD! SAY HELLO TO NADDI!
It has been a whirlwind of a career for the artist formerly known as Nadhira. From putting out 2 successful albums, an EP produced by top producer Bryan B (DeFam, Dolla, BATE) and signing a single to Warner Music Malaysia, it is time for a rebirth. Having achieved several accolades under her belt (Winner Best Pop Song VIMA 2012, AIM Nomination for Best English Song 2014), NADDI felt it was time to re-strategize kicking off a brand new persona with a brand new sound.
While maintaining her roots in hip-hop and R&B, NADDI has teamed up with top rapper/producer, SXPH, to put out a brand new track, “LOWKEY”. The duo had worked on a track in the past, on their 2018 release, "Hold Me Down" which got the attention of major music label, Warner Music Malaysia. Now, they're back again with another collaboration.
2021 in Malaysia has been a little rough especially with social issues involving schools and students, freedom of art and speech as well as brutality within the armed forces. Music has always been an outlet or expression to raise awareness on social issues; at least that is how rap came about with artists like NWA and Tupac in the past. As songwriters, some songs are written based on personal experiences and some are based on the experiences of others. This one in particular is of the latter. Relationships in this generation are hard to keep especially with the uncertainty of 'situationships' and the fear of commitment that is plaguing our generation. The question of fidelity, trust and 'true love' are ideas explored in this 2 minute and 30 second piece.
This song is honest, pure, no sugar coated rhymes; 100% real. The duo hopes that listeners will catch the true essence of the song in its purest form. Mild profanity is used only for the reason of expressing the emotion as pure as it can be. Sometimes there are no better words to describe a feeling or an emotion except the use of such words. With a dark sounding synth melody and a simple 808 trap beat giving it its backbone, NADDI delivers the message in a way R&B queens do so well.
NADDI is expecting to release more music in the coming months, working with a team of producers from Negeri Sembilan, revisiting and rediscovering her roots as a child of N9. Expect inclusion of the local dialect and some Minangkabau flavour in her later releases this year. NADDI is here to stay and it is just the beginning of a rebirth.

MonoloQue - Perang Halimunan
Terangkan semula,
Hati yang gelap gelita,
Hari ini hari raya,
Hari bahagia lagi mulia,
Hentikan porak peranda,
Nikmati suasana,
Gelak ketawa untuk seketika,
Yang terputus elok disambung,
Yang retak elok dijahiti...
- Track 7 : Hari Raya Ini Dalam Sejarah ( Keroncong) -
