COMING IN HOT! FLAMING HOT THAT IS!
25th June 2021 - When 2021 kicked off, the band embarked on a little journey of releasing covers with up and coming artists (Airinna Namara and Yazmin Aziz). The band is going to continue that journey with a cover of MODSUN’s ‘Flames’ featuring Avril Lavigne with a brand new artist, Amanda Love, who is not a stranger to the scene and has often been seen with An Honest Mistake guesting on vocals during their live shows.
With the rise of rap artists like MGK, jxdn, Trippie Redd, crossing over to pop punk, this is An Honest Mistake’s attempt at adopting that sound. What better way than to do it with their own rendition of a popular hit. Initially an acoustic guitar driven version has taken on a different form with 18-year old producer/artist, Karazey, who contributed the beats. Excessive auto-tuned vocals, a trap beat, lots of filters and ear-candy and the iconic 808 bass sound are all elements present in the band’s rendition. While the band is writing new music, this cover serves as a reminder that the band is still around and alive.
Amanda Love’s first release, #wastemytime2020 has gained over 100k streams since its release. A few remixes were also produced by local producers and a producer from USA, all of which are available on all streaming platforms. Expect more music from Amanda Love and An Honest Mistake in the coming months.

No Man’s Land, A Journey Of Two Lovers
18th June 2021 - 'No Man's Land' is another release by 18 year old producer Karazey featuring Aishia, a singer-songwriter who started writing at the age of 14, heavily inspired by Taylor Swift when she found out that Swift wrote her own songs.
'No Man's Land' is an electronic bass driven atmospheric pop song that explores the idea of trust in lovers. Aishia likened the idea of being in a relationship is very much like walking in the dark where both partners will light each other's way as they navigate through life together.
Karazey, as a producer, is also exploring and developing his sound straying away from hard pumping EDM, to produce a track that is a little bit more downtempo yet with the elements of dance music. The listener might not be jumping to this song but they will definitely be taken on a journey.
The cover artwork is also drawn by Aishia and then painted digitally. She is not only an amazing singer and songwriter, but an amazing artist too. A music video will be released to support the release of this track. It features a couple doing what couples do best; be in love.

Suntikan 'Vaccine' Maverick
2021 merupakan tahun MAVERICK membuat kemunculan bersama semula setelah hampir 6 tahun berehat dari cuti yang panjang. Bersama barisan pemain asal iaitu Fazli (gitar), Nas (drum), Shah (gitar), dan anggota baru iaitu Ikram sebagai pemain bass. Kini MAVERICK, mengeluarkan sebuah single tentang keadaan semasa.
Lagu “Vaccine” ini tercipta dari ilham pemain gitar mereka iaitu Fazli berkenaan keadaan isu-isu semasa yang terjadi di seluruh pelusuk dunia. Mengambil masa dalam satu tahun untuk melengkapkan lagu ini, menurut Fazli, “Idea untuk membuat lagu Vaccine ni tercetus bukan hanya untuk menekankan perlunya penyembuhan terhadap wabak sekarang, tetapi secara kiasan juga menekankan desakan untuk mengikis hipokrasi dan ketoksikan dalam masyarakat kita yang berselindung disebalik organisasi dan media sosial dengan menyebarkan niat dan kata-kata berunsur kebencian”.
Sesi rakaman lagu Vaccine dibuat di Studio Pekanmaya Records. MAVERICK menggunakan khidmat Ojoe (bekas pemain bass Couple) selaku engineer rakaman, mixing dan mastering. Single Vaccine ini telah dilancarkan di platform digital mulai 06 Jun 2021 yang lalu dan akan diikuti dengan video muzik yang akan dimuat naik sekitar awal Ogos 2021. MAVERICK juga ingin mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih kepada Msyafiqikhwan selaku jururakam video muzik dan juga Futurosak selaku tukang kreatif dalam membuat artwork cover.
MAVERICK adalah sebuah kumpulan muzik dari ibukota Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Mula ditubuhkan sebagai sebuah kumpulan bermula tahun 2012, MAVERICK pernah merakamkan 2 trek berjudul “Villain dan “Get Away” pada tahun 2014 bersama 2 bekas anggota lama iaitu Tajrin (vokal) dan Shiz (bass). Kini MAVERICK tampil dengan wajah baru sebagai quartet instrumental rock. Mungkin untuk pendengar muzik nama kumpulan ini tidak ramai yang tahu. Diharapkan dengan lahirnya single ini dapat membuka ruang dan pintu untuk MAVERICK melebarkan sayap mereka dikalangan pendengar muzik tanahair.
