IDGAD (Karazey Remix) - Part 1

IDGAD is a remix version of An Honest Mistake's single, 'I Don't Give A Damn' (released on 5th June 2020) produced by Karazey (to be released on 28th August 2020). This is the first of a 3-part series of remixes by the band. These remixes act as an extension of the promotion of the single but at the same time being a stand-alone project of its own.

The remix, IDGAD starts off with a dark sinister sounding synth that evolves into a heavy thumping bass groove akin to any progressive house tune creating 'tension' for the listeners. Towards the bridge of the song, the mood switches to an uplifting and euphoric atmosphere as a 'release' while it ends with a resounding crowd chant. The track takes you through a 3-minute ride on an auricular rollercoaster of emotions.

Karazey is a self-taught 17 year old producer from Kajang discovered by Darren, the lead singer of the band while scrolling through Spotify. He has become one of the artists on the rise and doesn't show signs of slowing down. His ability to create soundscapes with hard hitting drops marks him as an incredibly versatile artist. Ranging from various genres, his sound is prominently known for electro house and future bass.

A connection was quickly made and the conversation of doing a remix began almost instantaneously. Within 2 weeks, the track was finalized and ready for release. An artist in his own right, Karazey started producing music only 2 year ago (15 years old) and has got over 100,000 streams and close to 20,000 listeners in a month. Through the ups and downs, he has finally made a brand for himself. It is only the beginning and Karazey has more to show the world.

An Honest Mistake has always been big on collaborations especially when it involves newer and younger talented artistes. It is their goal to raise, educate and promote artistes in the industry as a way of playing their part in giving back to a growing market. By bending and crossing genres, it ultimately bring about the sharing of audience and listeners. The band put out a 16-track remix album (#AnHonestMixTape) in 2017 featuring producers from Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, UK and India.
